Health Tips

  1. Take a calcium supplement (400-500 mg three times daily) that has strontium, vanadium, and magnesium in it, away from food, since a high-fiber diet can interfere with proper absorption of calcium. Remember calcium is also found in green leafy vegetables so eat lots of them.
  2. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Half your body weight in ounces is a good amount, or at least 8 glasses of water a day.
  3. During allergy season, take 2,000-4,000 mg of Vitamin C per day, in divided doses, to support your metabolic and immune functions of your body.
  4. Eat foods with plenty of texture and color, which also happen to be high in fiber.
  5. Read food labels to help you make healthier, informed food choices.
  6. Get your blood moving and oxygen to your tissues and brain. Exercise at least 15 minutes (preferably enough to sweat) 3-4 times a week.
  7. Sleep 7-8 hours per night to give your body the restorative and recuperative time it needs for your active days.
  8. Quiet your mind daily through meditation, yoga, prayer or some other spiritual exercise.
